View our packages here. Choose from pre-existing packages or choose a la carte options to build your perfect family history. We offer competitive pricing, flexibility, and customization.
We handle everything in-house, providing customers with privacy and the utmost attention to detail. Upon completion of the project, all materials that we receive from customers will be returned in their original form. Each project comes with a free one-hour consultation to discuss the project parameters and determine if AFH is a good fit for you. No two projects are the same and we pride ourselves on our personalization – an ability to remain flexible and accommodate a wide range of requests. Unlike other services, we charge by the hour instead of by the service. This allows for more flexibility and personalization for the client, who has more control over the process, while allowing for our fees to stay competitive. Talk to an expert, send us your materials to be scanned, and start your personalized family history project today.

Package A is ideal if you are looking solely for a basic digitization and recording service. Your photos would be digitized, a family tree would be made, and family history recorded and written. Three hours of consultation (one at the start, one halfway, and one before delivering the finished product) are included in the cost. Ideal for covering a short period of time (10 years or less), this package aims to have your family’s oral history recorded, written, and uploaded online in under a month.
Includes:
Suited for a longer family history (20+ years), Package B is perfect for a more intensive project such as capturing the stories of multiple family members, a major multi-year event (such as a war, emigration, etc.), or the story of a family business.
Includes:
Package C is the “full package” – ideally suited for a full, long-term family history (spanning several generations) or a memoir-style oral history.
Includes:
Do you have an ongoing family history project? Need help starting your own? Stuck on a complicated problem in your own project? We can help. A member of the AFH team will hold a meeting with you to help you envision and work on your project. Whether you’re just starting a family history project, are stuck on a middle step, need help with a knotty theoretical issue, or need help deciding what your final product will be, our team of experts will be able to help you. Our consulting services are available by the hour to help you in your own project or to provide ideas and somebody to talk to.

AFH can also come to you! We are currently operating in the Lower Mainland, and can come to wherever you are. We will provide the same services as we do digitally, namely recording family stories and digitizing materials. We understand that security is a high concern – sending your materials, talking over Zoom, and other middle steps can cause unnecessary stress. Let us come to you! Following COVID precautions, we can come to your residence, set up a scanner and other recording devices, and get to work.
Our “custom built” option, our a la carte offerings allow you to build your own family history outside of our usual structure. For example, if you want to focus more on video or audio recording but are not looking for any writing, you can build your own mix-and-match package with a la carte offerings. The same basic services of digitization, interviewing (including recording), writing, map-making, family tree making, and research are offered (along with the same mode of delivery in a webpage) but the structure, amount, and other options are up to you!

Every project at AFH starts with a free, no-commitment, one hour consultation to meet, discuss, plan, and see if our services are right for you. We specialize in making your family memories and stories come to life through digitization and writing, crafting a unique and engaging narrative to bring the past into the present. Our main focus is writing, where we take the oral histories and disparate strands of the past and bring them together, creating an organized and readable family history.
